Jeff Peifer founded JPs Contracting in 1992 on the same principles that we still uphold today, almost three decades and thousands of construction projects later: to maintain a client-centered approach to construction while delivering the highest quality craftmanship. Our mission is to deliver superior service for our clients, to perform construction projects on time and on budget, and to keep safety at the forefront for our employees and subcontractors.

Our office staff, project managers, and estimators work diligently day-in and day-out from our office in Castle Shannon. We also employ a crew of qualified carpenters who lend their expertise each day on our jobsites. JPs Contracting has hard-working people on staff who are committed to doing superior work for our clients.

We are very proud of our network of loyal subcontractors and vendors, which is a testament to how well we treat our fellow construction professionals. JPs has also built a long list of repeat clients who represent some of the finest businesses and institutions in the region.

In 1992 with two decades of construction experience already under his belt, Jeff founded JPs Contracting, Inc The company continued to grow because Jeff secured a strong network of loyal subcontractors, employed high quality laborers / carpenters who take pride in their work, and satisfied countless clients who become return customers. Aside from overseeing all operations of the company and maintaining professional relationships with new and established clients, Jeff also acts as Project Manager on many construction projects. Today, Jeff’s passion for owning his own business and extensive knowledge of the industry continue to shape his company’s reputation as a trusted partner with a commitment to excellent service.
Mark Staley
Mark StaleyProject Manager / Estimator
Mark has been in the industry for over 30 years and knew of JPs’ excellent reputation, so he jumped at the chance to join the JPs team in 1999. Since then, he has excelled with the company and is now a Project Manager / Estimator. His loyalty to the JPs team, experience in the industry, and problem-solving skills have played an enormous role in his success here. Mark has managed countless construction projects, including build-outs for Waldron Private Health, Seegrid Corporation, Premier Medical, the NSABP Foundation, and many more. When he’s not on the job, Mark is busy raising his 5 daughters, coaching their soccer teams, and traveling to different states to compete in tournaments with them.
Jeffrey Peifer IIVice President / Project Manager
As project manager / estimator with JPs, Jeffrey specializes in interior retail fitouts and has worked with customers like Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa, Sport Clips, Philip Pelusi, Dicks Sporting Goods, and more. Jeffrey graduated from Penn State University in 2012 and joined the JPs team in 2016. Being the son of JPs’ owner, he had often helped out on JPs’ jobs during his high school and college years. Jeffrey is an avid golfer and enjoys spending his free time with his family. He and his wife Lani reside in the south hills of Pittsburgh with their two children, Brooks and Emery.
Jillian Phoenix
Jillian PhoenixOffice Manager
Jillian’s primary responsibilities with JPs include billing and accounting; customer service and employee relations; generating contract packages, construction schedules, contactor agreements, and change orders; and more. Before joining the JPs team in 2013, she graduated from St. Francis University with a Bachelor’s degree in English / Literature and from West Virginia University with a Master’s degree in Professional Writing and Editing. Jillian and her husband Kieran welcomed a baby boy Rory in 2020, and spending time with them is her favorite part of everyday.
Tori HoranVice President/ Director of Business Development
Tori heads up all the marketing and business development at JPs. She is in charge of maintaining relationships with existing and new clients, expanding JPs’ network of subcontractors and vendors, organizing community outreach programs, actively participating in professional organizations like BOMA and NAIOP, and more. Tori is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, and even before officially joining the JPs team in 2015, she grew up learning the business, being the daughter of JPs’ owner Jeff. She currently lives in Castle Shannon with her husband Mike and her two kids, Leo and Lucy. Tori enjoys traveling, working out and staying active, and spending time with her family.
